MUKUDZEI MUZONDO

Design//Life is delighted to present a new exhibition of work by Mukudzei Muzondo which will be running in Harare from 23 May until 20 June. “The Overview” is Mukudzei’s most recent collection in which he seeks to examine the impact of migration – its effect on the migrants and their families, as well as how this flow of people is transforming societies. “We are so pleased to be working with Mukudzei on this show,” says Design//Life Editor Milly McPhie. “His artwork is subtle but its message is pronounced. To see so many of his paintings on display together will be an amazing experience.”

Mukudzei Muzondo’s exhibition “The Overview”, in association with Design//Life magazine, will be at Sabre Business World from 23 May until 20 June. 146 Enterprise Road, Harare. Call: +263 787 513 555.

CALVIN CHIMUTUWAH

It’s been over a decade since Calvin Chimutuwah’s last solo exhibition so it’s with great excitement that we announce a new show of his latest artwork. Calvin spent five years living and working in Hwange painting wildlife and landscapes, but this new body of work takes him right back to his childhood. His bright, vivid canvasses reflect the nostalgia he feels for his days as a carefree kid, his attention to detail a beautiful observation of the world as seen through a child’s eyes. “I’m so grateful to my late father Robert, who was also an artist, for keeping all my exercise books from when I was child,” Calvin says. “My early drawings inform my creative process and have inspired some of the work in this show.”

Calvin Chimutuwah’s exhibition runs at the National Gallery of Zimbabwe from 20 June.
