Made from 100 per cent natural ingredients and produced here in Zimbabwe, these beautiful new balms from Bekah are sure to get under your skin
Beauty product packaging people are very smart. They know that with a chi-chi font and some clever wording they can sell anything to anyone. The psychology is that if the pot looks good, then what’s inside it will make you look good too; but nine times out of ten it’s a fail, right? Not so with these balms from new skincare brand Bekah.
Admittedly the packaging was a draw:we loved the psychedelic-style font and bright branding.
But then we actually tried them: these balms are the bomb. Made with 100 per cent natural ingredients (that are biodegradable too), the formulas contain a base of olive, coconut, grapeseed and vitamin E oil held together with unrefined and locally sourced beeswax. The balms are then gently fragranced with a clever mix of essential oils: the Lavender & Rose Geranium Sooth & Calm Balm, and Sweet Orange & Spearmint Body Butter are particular favourites.
“I was tired of buying products that were damaging to my skin, and the planet, so I started experimenting with formulas and trying them out on my friends,” says Bekah boss Rebekah Davies. “Everyone who tried them loved them, and this gave me the confidence to launch my one-woman show in Harare. It’s been nonstop ever since.”
We love a one-woman show and we love Bekah.
